There’s plenty of very talented Sydney based wedding photographers out there, and almost every last one brands themselves as a storyteller. So do I.
But I take it a little more seriously than most.
Yes, we will nail the big hero shots of you both fist pumping your way back up the aisle after the ceremony, and get some rocking portraits. Don’t get me wrong, these are important moments – and photos – to immortalise.
But.
You have a story that is so much deeper than the big moments that happen at every single wedding.
My promise to you is that I will do everything in my power to unearth and preserve all the stories that matter to you. To shed a light on all the important relationships and histories you bring to the day, as well as the heart of the relationship at the centre of it all. To do it artfully and create images that both look beautiful and have stupid amounts of soul. Pretty but without meaning is, for me, pointless.
I put buttloads of effort and intention in to getting to know people because the better I know your story and the people that have shaped it, the better I can tell it. The more I can figure out what makes your relationship tick, the more I can gently nudge the conversation in that direction so that when you look back at the images you can immediately be taken back to the headspace you were in at the time.

AKA I’VE NEVER PLANNED A WEDDING BEFORE. HELP.
Most people are by definition rookies at this whole thing, and so knowing where to start can be a bit of a nightmare.
I sincerely believe that your relative levels of stress or excitement in the lead up to the wedding can heavily impact your experience of the day itself. To that end, I’ve written down a bunch of thoughts, some extensive, some smaller, on the last few years and 200 odd weddings of experience to help (hopefully) make planning everything a little easier, reduce your stress, and skyrocket your stoke.
My approach is warm and honest, my images are sometimes big and loud, sometimes quiet and tender, but always authentic and a reflective of the two people at the centre of the it all. Getting to know my clients is huge for me, because without doing so how can I be in a position to tell your story? At the end of the day, what I want is for people who have never met you before to be able to see the images and get a sense of who you are, both as individuals and to each other. To get a sense of the relationships that are important to you, to feel like they know some of the characters that make up your life. I want you to be able to look back at them and feel some shadow of what you felt in each moment, to spark reminiscence and story telling and discussion and love, and everything else.
